A mixed opening for US stock markets and this time the Dow Jones kicks off the best

Following an earlier update here noting the likely higher opening for the US stock markets today, they have now resumed live trading. However, it has not been such a great start for the Nasdaq 100 or the S+P 500, as around an hour ago both futures took a knock lower into the opening. The Dow Jones future did fall back as well. Nonetheless, it remained in positive territory leading into the opening, but only just. The Nasdaq 100 has just this minute reopened and it has been a lower start to the day and its the same for the S+P 500. Look, these markets are pretty unpredictable at the best of times, when it comes to short-term gyrations, but today that is compounded by the time of the year and the proximity of that Fed policy meeting this evening. As noted here earlier, Quick News will be on hand to cover what emerges from that and perhaps during the 7.30pm GMT press conference too. The Dow Jones is right now trading at 43,505.
