Meta beats forecasts on Q1 earnings but shares slide- Nasdaq 100 futures take a hit
The US equity markets have literally just closed. The Dow Jones ended the session slightly lower (down by 42 points, at 38,461), but up from an earlier session low at 38,310. The Nasdaq 100 just closed at 17,526, with a gain of 55 points on the day. The eagerly awaited Q1 results from Meta (Facebook) have just been released and it has been a modest beat on revenue ($36.46 billion) but a better beat on EPS of $4.71. That was against the expected $4.32 figure. However, the Q2 guidance has disappointed the Markets along with some other components in the report. Meta stock has slumped by around 10% just now in grey market trading and that has pushed the Nasdaq 100 futures abruptly lower. The index is right now pricing a reopening for tomorrow at just above 17,400
