McDonalds earnings in the spotlight shortly as Dow Jones futures slip
The recent problems besetting the US food chain giant, McDonalds will surely not impact their Q3 earnings, which are to be released shortly, at 11am GMT. The markets are expecting Q3 revenue of $6.82 billion and an EPS of $3.20. McDonalds is ranked number 7 by weight within the Dow and so any major surprises could have an impact on the futures price this morning. Since the last update here, the index future has fallen back and right now it is pricing a slightly lower opening. Also to note, ahead of this at 10.45am we get results from Pfizer (PFE) and at 11am also from Paypal Holdings (PYPL), but neither of those are Dow Jones components. The Dow Jones is just now priced to reopen at around 42,360
