The Nasdaq 100 was the worst performing major US stock market and it was that way from the very start of the session. Eventually that underperformance seemed to drag the Dow Jones and S+P 500 lower too. The Nasdaq 100 fell back to a low at 20,615 after reopening at 20,852. The index did rebound off that low and later closed 178 points lower, at 20,744. Pretty much all of the big names closed lower last night and it was only Alphabet (GOOGL) which bucked those falls. The continued failure to reclaim levels above 21k has been noted a couple of times here this week and yesterday was another example of that. Perhaps we should remember the month-end influence in all this and the Thanksgiving holiday today. So, the US stock markets are not open today, but the Nasdaq 100 futures are still trading this morning and if the index were to open later on, that would currently be at around 20,790

Since the last update here on Gold, the metal has now tested and taken out the noted trend line resistance level, in place around $3,029 per ounce...
