A late month-end rush sees Dow Jones charge into the close

On Friday the Dow Jones was always outperforming from the very start of the session. In contrast the Nasdaq 100 was trading in an opposing direction . The Dow Jones charged higher coming into the monthly close too. rising by more than 300 points in the final 30 minutes of live trade ahead of that. The Dow later closed 574 points higher, at 38,686. The range seen on the day was covered by 38,092 to 38,719. What was pretty clear was a last minute rush to cover shorts was the driver behind this last minute gain. So, that was the best one day top to bottom gain for the Dow since November. Overnight the Asian markets are mostly in the green and that has helped the Dow Jones futures to press higher again. The index future is right now pricing the reopening today at around 38,810
