It was close yesterday but the USD/CAD rejected a new 2024 high

As there will be no coverage here this afternoon, it is important to cover as many bases as possible this morning. So, along with the US data releases this afternoon, we also get some relatively important data out of Canada. At 12.30pm GMT we get the latest (August) monthly GDP data. That was last at 0.2% and  it is expected to be at zero. The annualised rate is forecast to remain unchanged at 1.5%. Now ahead of this data, the USD/CAD is holding above 1.3900 so far today. Yesterday the USD/CAD came very close to reaching a new 2024 high above 1.3946 (set on August 5). However, in the event it stalled at 1.3941and later fell back into the US close, ending that session at 1.3904. The price action so far today has been covered by 1.3900 and 1.3922. The USD/CAD is currently trading at 1.3913
