It was a close call but the S+P 500 leads US markets lower- Futures in the red this morning

As mentioned earlier this morning, when looking at the DAX futures, the US markets all closed lower last night. The losses were slight though and pretty evenly spread on this occasion, but the S+P 500 just about managed to lead the downside into the close. The S+P 500 closed 0.39% lower, compared to a loss of 0.37% for the Nasdaq 100 and 0.27% for the Dow Jones. The S+P 500 ended the session, 23 points lower, at 5,940.46 after it earlier had stalled on the topside at 5,953.06. The session low prior to that close was set at 5,909.26. The futures price this morning is indicating it might reopen later at, or even below that low. The index is currently priced to reopen around 5,908
