It looks like the EUR/USD is watching and waiting but what for?

The range in the EUR/USD since this time yesterday has not broken any fresh ground on the week. The range since Monday has been covered by 1.0954 to 1.0997. The EUR/USD closed in the US last night at 1.0980 and the range seen so far today has been covered by 1.0962 to 1.0981. The inability of the Euro to rebound back above the 1.10 handle is all about the US dollar. The recovery in the USD index (USDX) to above 102.50 has come after it held the 100 handle really well. The latest US economic data has of course been the driver behind the rebound. So, in that respect tomorrow could be a big day for the US currency and the Euro, as we have the most important US release of the week at 12.30pm GMT- the September CPI report. There will be more detail on that in due course, but right now that seems to be what the EUR/USD might be waiting for. It is currently trading at 1.0967
