The higher opening for the Nasdaq 100 did not look back yesterday and the rise in the major tech sector helped to lift the index. That rise was led by gains in Alphabet (GOOG) and AMD. The Nasdaq 100 rose to a session high at 16,042 and later managed to close above 16k for the first time since November 28. The close was set at 16,022. Overnight the index futures have fallen back, following another slide in the Nikkei 225 and ahead of the US monthly jobs report later today. The price action is by no means conclusive at this stage and subject to whatever that US data has to throw at it later on. The index is currently priced to reopen at around 15,995
