Gold sets a record daily close at $2,128.04

The noted jump in Gold prices yesterday, which did see the metal reach a new all time high at $2,141.79 was followed by some pretty volatile price action and swings, in between $2,120 and $2,140 ahead of the 4pm London FX fix. Eventually, gold managed to steady into the US close, where it later set a new all time daily closing high, at $2,128.04. It has not made any further progress yet today, but it has not ceded much ground either. The range seen so far today has been covered by $2,123.76 to $2,128.52. It will be important for momentum, that US yields do not rebound today and given the data seen yesterday, there is a good argument for them not doing so. Gold is just now trading at $2,126.45
