Gold sets a record close on Friday and sets a new record earlier today

On Friday Gold closed at $3,237.61. That was of course a record daly and weekly close for the metal. Earlier today is built on that record close and set a new all time high, at $3,245.75, after initially falling back to $3,211.70 at the start of the Asian session. The observations here last week about who might be buying this remain unchanged, but officially unconfirmed. So, we will have to wait for official data at some point in the future to confirm that, or not. Beyond that not much has changed for Gold and it still has little reason to fundamentally shift its trend. Perhaps only a really substantial move back into equity risk will deliver that and despite the gains today, this is not yet apparent in the broader sense. Gold is trading right now $3,231.95
