Gold came under further selling pressure later yesterday afternoon, as the US stock markets tanked. Earlier in the day, as the metal fell below $2,900, it was observed here; that selling seemed to stem from the closure of profitable trades in order to cover mounting US stock losses. Well, it seems that dynamic continued later in the day, as the US stock markets crumbled further. So, gold fell back towards $2,880 ahead of the US close. The metal later closed in the US last night at $2,888.71. Earlier this morning it fell to a low at 2,880.46. but it has recovered with the US stock futures since then. That has seen Gold rebound to $2,902.84 a short while ago. There will be more to add on this later. Gold is currently trading at $2,901.10
