On Friday afternoon Gold reached a new record just ahead of the 4pm London FX fix. Gold rose to $2,886.78. However, as the Trump comments on tariffs sent stocks sliding and the dollar jumping, Gold fell back sharply, to below $2,855. It later closed in the US at $2,861.07. The price action earlier today saw it trade to $2,855.21, but it has rebounded again since. Once it took out the record seen on Friday, it seemed to spark fresh buying and may have forced stops out too. So, Gold reached a new record not that long ago, at $2,892.25. It has backed away from that record just now though, currently trading at $2,888.10
