Gold mulling its options this morning as Yen weakens past 145 to the dollar

Gold came close to a new all time high yesterday, but as noted, in the event it stalled short of rising above $2,531.75. The high seen was set at $2,526.89. It fell back towards $2,510 and later  rebounded within the day range and closed in the US at $2,518.03. Earlier today it fell back to below the lows seen yesterday and probably tripped some stops below $2,508 in the process. The low seen was set at $2,505.94. It has bounced from there and seemingly defied the gains in the USD/JPY so far today. Incidentally that is just now rising above the 145 handle again right now. Meantime Gold is currently trading at $2,512.85
