Earlier this morning Gold was edging lower. The metal had topped out yesterday afternoon at $2,181.31 and fallen back into the US close. Gold closed last night at $2,171.83. Earlier today it fell back to a session low at $2,167.67. However, in the past few minutes the metal has spiked higher and lifted close to the highs seen yesterday. The possible driver for that is a lack of momentum in the USD/JPY right now, coupled with no rebound yet in US treasury yields. So, Gold has found some fresh buyers in recent trade. It is just now trading at $2,179.05
