Gold lifts as USD/JPY slips again
Gold is right now setting fresh session highs above $2,705 and the move higher comes as the USD/JPY slips towards 155.75. Earlier this morning the USD/JPY repeatedly tried to lift above 156.25, but those efforts have now blown out and the dollar is falling back. The move lower in the USD/JPY is not currently being accompanied by gains in the EUR/USD, or the GBP/USD. Hence both the GBP/JPY and EUR/JPY are falling back at the same time. This is not risk aversion though, because of course that is not in play right now, it is more Yen centric than that. So, that slip in the USD/JPY has helped Gold to session highs. As to whether it can extend much above $2,705 remains to be seen. The high so far has been set at $2,705.82. Gold is currently trading at $2,704.20
