Gold lifts to a new record high above $2,945
Gold has been gradually pressing higher since the last update here noted it was trading around $2,930. The metal has now taken out the previous record high, at $2,942.68. In process of pushing to fresh records this morning it has also negated the risk of setting in place a double top on the daily charts around that prior record. The risk of that unfolding was highlighted here earlier. The new record high seen a short while ago was set at $2,946.59. Gold is currently trading at $2,944.85
