Yesterday gold extended its move higher. The metal almost touched $2,440 after the European close (2,439.75 the high) and was clearly buoyed by the comments from the Fed boss. However, it was not able to hold all that gain into the US close, when it later ended the day at $2,422.27. It seems that little more than profit-taking got the better of it yesterday evening and that has seen the metal lift back above $2,430 today. The low seen earlier was set at $2,420.08. The high so far has been set at $2,432.85. The reader is reminded of the current 2024 and all time record high, which remains in place at $2,450.07. That was set on May 20. Gold is currently trading at $2,430.90
