Gold lifts closer to record levels ahead of the European opening

Gold has extended its gains since yesterday. The metal is just now rising above $2,675. Yesterday Gold held a noted rebound from below $2,640 and later closed in the US at $2,662.58. It has gotten some further demand from the fall in US stocks and so far not reacted to any moves in the USD/JPY. So, that has further twisted the more usual Yen/Gold dynamic in favour of the metal. Gold is now edging closer to its 2024 and all time record high, still in place at $2,685.58. Gold  has traded to a high so far at $2,677.76. It is currently trading at $2,674.40
