Gold lifts close to record levels
An earlier update this morning noted how Gold buyers had a good reason to return to the market today. Well, since then the metal has advanced further and risen by more than $25. In fact it came very close to setting a new all time high earlier. Gold reached $3,055.84. That high was just a couple of dollars short of the record seen last week, when it set that, at $3,057.49. It has edged a little lower now today, but it would seem short-sighted to rule out a possible new all time high at some point ahead of the close tonight. Gold is currently trading at $3,052.20
