Gold keeping an eye on USD/JPY as it rises above 149.50 now
The USD/JPY has now pushed its way above 149.50 and taken the likes of the GBP/JPY and EUR/JPY higher with it. Right now the GBP/JPY is within striking distance of the current 2024 high, at 188.92. The further Yen weakness this morning is also keeping gold under wraps again, although in relative terms the metal is holding up well so far. Gold closed in the US last night at $2,034.52. It is currently trading at $2,032.30 (range today 2,030.56 to 2,035.20).
