Gold holds positive momentum into the European close ahead of the weekend

Earlier today gold came close to rising above $2,620. In the event it stalled at record high of $2,619.39 and then backed off towards the $2,600 handle again. However, as the day has progressed and the news emerging from the Middle East remains negative and the geopolitical risks are very much heightened right now, that has attracted further flow into gold as a haven. So, as per earlier, the Yen/Gold correlation has remained as blown out as it was much earlier today. Gold is pushing towards that earlier record high just now, currently $2,615.75
