Gold gets a further lift as US yields edge lower

Earlier this morning, as Gold was lifting above $2,765 per ounce an update here noted the metal had a tailwind behind it. Well, since then and just now the metal is approaching the $2,780 mark and hence closer to the 2025 high seen last week, around $2,786. The further gains this morning come as US yields continue to drift lower. The USD/JPY is a little lower now too, most likely for the same reason. The 10 year yield has now drifted back to 4.50%. Gold has just risen above $2,779. It is currently trading at $2,778.60
