Gold falls below $2900 as US yields add pressure

Perhaps it should have been noted in the penultimate update looking at the recent price action in the USD/JPY, but it is being highlighted here now. That is the further downside seen in Gold prices now. The metal has slipped to fresh session lows, underneath the 2,900 handle. As you know and reported on earlier, Gold hit a new record high earlier today, at $2,942.68. Well, it has now fallen below the $2,900 handle a moment ago. The rebound in the Yen and US yields has prompted yet more profit-taking it seems. Gold is right now at $2,899.50
