Gold edging a little higher this morning

Yesterday Gold failed to get above the rebound high it had reached on Wednesday, at $2,929.94. As covered here early yesterday morning, the high seen earlier in Asian trading was set at $2,926.64 and that remained the high of the session all the way to the US close. Ahead of that Gold did fall back and set a low at $2,891.45. That move seemed clearly at odds with the price action in the US stock markets, US bonds and the USD/JPY. However, the metal did recover from the lows and later closed in the US at $2,911.80. Earlier today it had another look below the $2,900 and hit a session low at $2,896.89. The weaker USD/JPY is seemingly providing some support just now, as is the fall back in US yields so far this morning. The high seen so far has been set at $2,914.84. It is currently trading at $2,912.55
