Gold edges to session lows as European markets get underway

Last Thursday Gold rose to a new interim high at $2,424.58 following the release of a lower than forecast US CPI report. The metal then fell back to a low at $2,391.60 on Friday afternoon, after the release of a higher than forecast PPI report. However, that modest pullback was not sustained and Gold later closed the week above $2,400, at $2,411.43. It has not yet threatened either side of that immediate range covered on Thursday and Friday last week. The range seen so far today has been set at $2,402.69 to $2,413.98. Gold is right now at the very bottom end of that range, just now trading at $2,403.80
