Gold edges off earlier highs

Yesterday Gold staged a very steady and gradual rebound from a low at $2,734.86 set just as the European stock markets reopened. That rebound saw it lift steadily towards and later above $2,760. Gold subsequently closed in the US at $2,763.51. Earlier this morning it reached a high at $2,766.29 but it has backed away from that high just now. The high on the week was set on Monday, at $2,772.61. So, as you can see, so far today it has not threatened that yet. The Fed meeting and policy decision this evening could be pivotal for the metal in determining its next move. There will be more to add on that later today. The low since the high this morning has been set at a moment ago, at $2,759.63. It is currently at $2,760
