Global stock markets further in the green now today but FTSE 100 still lags the pack

Since the last update here earlier this morning the Nikkei 225 futures have pushed back into positive territory and risen further and that has lifted both the European stock markets and US futures. So, the outlook for the US opening this afternoon is now looking a bit more positive than it was earlier. The DAX has traded above 17,600 since the last update here and the CAC 40 has pushed on close to the 7,250 mark. However, the FTSE 100 has lagged everything in relative terms. The Index has lifted above 8,100 so far today but it is not much above that level just now. The thing is; the FTSE 100 never got hammered anywhere as much as its peers. This was noted here before. At around 8,100 the index is only some 350 points below the record high it set back in May.
