FTSE 100 struggling again today ahead of UK budget statement

The FTSE 100 is once again dampening the price action across the major European stock markets and it is just now falling to fresh session lows, underneath 7,475. As noted here earlier, the FTSE closed lower yesterday at 7,481. It did try to vault the 7,500 handle earlier this morning, but so far it has topped out at just above that level once more, with 7,504 being the earlier high. The fall back below 7,481 is not exactly positive, but at the same time, we are talking about very contained moves here. The index is edging lower ahead of the UK budget, but of course it is where it trades to after that which surely matters most. So, it remains to be seen, if the index will react well to the detail of that, when it emerges after 12.30pm GMT. The FTSE 100 is currently trading at 7,472
