FTSE 100 still underperforming in European opening trade

The European stock markets have just reopened and it has been a rather uncertain start to the day. The DAX has pushed a bit higher in early trading and so has the CAC. Ahead of the opening the FTSE 100 futures were pricing a lower start. The index was the worst performing major European index yesterday, when it just failed to post a higher close. The FTSE ended the session 3.16 points lower, at 8,545.13. It was priced to reopen around 8,515 earlier, but opening trade has seen it trade nearer to where it closed yesterday, but so far it is yet to make any headway. It is just now edging a little lower, currently trading at 8,535
