FTSE 100 reclaims 7,700 as the CAC sets a new record above 8,000

The further gains across the European stock markets has delivered a rise to above 17,800 in the DAX and above 8,000 for the first time ever in the CAC 40. The gains in the CAC and the DAX has helped to lift the FTSE 100 above 7,700 ahead of the Fed boss talking again this afternoon. It will be interesting to see, if the FTSE can close above 7,700 later this afternoon. However, it will be more interesting perhaps to see, if the CAC can close above 8k for the first time ever. The index has lifted to a record high this afternoon, at 8,027 and given that this is a red letter day for the French stock market, there is very little in terms of narrative about that across the major News wires.
