FTSE 100 reaches a new all time record high above 8,047
Well, it was hardly the surprise of the day, but the FTSE 100 has broken records today. The index has lifted above the existing record at 8,047. The index did officially reopen today at 8,023 where it closed yesterday, but as usual that is just a book entry. The index has now lifted above 8,070 and it had remained elevated since setting new records today. The key to further gains will be dependent upon the index not closing below 8,023 later today. As long as that does not happen then momentum could send this one higher still
