FTSE 100 pushes higher again following BOE move

The FTSE was already on the rebound ahead of the decision by the BOE to lower the base rate by 0.25%. Earlier today the FTSE 100 had fallen back to a session low at 8,335. It was already edging back towards the 8,400 handle again. Much earlier today the index did edge above that level when it topped out at 8,405.24. There is little doubt that the interest rate cut is supportive for equity markets, but as to how much that might be is hard to gauge at the moment, but certainly there is a prospect in the short-term of a move to fresh session highs today - we shall soon see, if that is the case
