FTSE 100 outguns the rest in Europe

As noted here yesterday afternoon, once back above 8,105 the FTSE 100 did not look back and extended the rebound gains into close. The FTSE 100 was the only European stock market index to close higher yesterday. The FTSE closed at 8,221, with a gain of 32 points. It was also 165 points above the earlier session low, at 8,056. So, that 0.40% rise compared to a 1.15% decline for the CAC 40 and a 0.48% loss for the DAX. The FTSE 100 was lifted by a number of positive earnings reports and perhaps a degree of rotation away from the other two markets. The index future is not higher right now though and currently indicating a slightly lower opening for later this morning. As with everything else out there just now that is likely to shift around before live trading resumes
