FTSE 100 lower in early trading

On Friday a final update here for the week noted the FTSE 100 had traded below 8k. Now according to the feed usually used there for that it did. However, officially it did not. The actual low was set at 8,002.34, but in that sense if pretty much got there anyway and the rebound that ensued came as the US stock markets continued to drive higher towards the European close. That helped the FTSE 100 to rebound to an effective session high, at 8,104, before later closing the week at 8,084.61. So, despite the rebound that was still a lower close on the day, of 20.71 points. Well, the index has just reopened along with its peers and the noted lower opening outlook a little earlier has transposed into some deeper losses in very early trade. The DAX is tracking back towards the 19,800 handle and the FTSE 100 is right now very close to 8,050 and another potential retest of that 8k level is not ruled out again today
