FTSE 100 leads European stocks lower again

The rebound in the European stock markets today has now seemingly run its course. There is still time for another rebound ahead of the close, but increasingly that looks unlikely. The leader in this move lower has been the FTSE 100 and it is now falling back close to the 7,400 mark. In truth it never made much of an impression earlier and was always lagging even when the DAX rose more than 200 points of its opening lows (14,948). Well that has now backed well away from the session high at 15,174 and it is threatening to fall back closer to 15k once more. Meantime, the FTSE 100 is certainly set for a lower close today, currently trading at 7,403, where the index closed yesterday at 7,470 and only rebounded to as high as 7,490 earlier
