FTSE 100 lags the market again

The FTSE 100 is still lagging the wider markets this morning, with new records likely in the DAX today and records in Japan earlier. The latest UK banking results from Lloyds have just been released and they were a little shy of expectations in terms of top and bottom line, but they were by no means bad. The gains in the Pound and oil prices this morning are still acting as a headwind too and that is preventing the FTSE 100 from joining the party. The index is set to open higher this morning though, but right now still underneath that 7,700 level. Perhaps it will catch up later, but the fact remains; the FTSE 100 has virtually no tech within its make-up and that is the reason for the index not following the records seen elsewhere today
