FTSE 100 futures in the red this morning

The FTSE 100 was the best performing major European stock market index yesterday. The index rose to a high at 8,388.37. However, it was unable to hold all off that more 75 point rise into the close, ending the day 46.52 points higher, at 8,359.41. Despite that, the index still outperformed even the DAX in terms of percentage gains on the day. This morning the outlook is not so hot right now and the futures are pointing to a lower opening today. Right at this moment the FTSE futures are around 0.45% in the red and that comes as the DAX futures also edge lower and the CAC futures remain under further pressure ahead of the opening. The low point seen yesterday on the FTSE was set at 8,311.85 and right now the opening is increasingly looking like it might threaten that in around 30 minutes. The index is currently priced to reopen around 8,329
