FTSE 100 futures indicate another record on the opening today
The UK stock markets were closed for business yesterday, but the FTSE 100 futures were open and the they pushed higher throughout the day and have risen further this morning. Right at this moment in time the price there is suggesting an effective reopening, perhaps above 8,300 this morning. Of course the usual book entry will not allow for an official reopening above where the index closed on Friday, at 8,213. Naturally, the index futures might fall back over the next couple of hours, but right now the FTSE 100 looks poised to set fresh records again this morning, remembering it set a record high on Friday at 8,246.73
