FTSE 100 extends gains in early trading
The European stock markets have been open for around 30 minutes now and the gains are pretty modest for the most part, but as suspected the standout performer has been the FTSE 100. The index has now pushed higher and it is currently outperforming its peers, as it rises above 8,375 and hence one step closer to the all time record high it set earlier this summer, at 8,474.41, It is unlikely to reach that level today and there is no guarantee that it will ultimately do so anyway.
