FTSE 100 edges back after stubborn UK inflation report (corrected)

The FTSE came close to taking out a level that has been the subject of a good deal of narrative here. That is at 7,105. well, in the event that level held firm yesterday and the FTSE rebounded into the close. The index lifted from a session low at 8,126, to close just 18 points lower, at 8,164.90. As the US markets and the Dow Jones gained even more after the European close, the FTSE 100 future were pricing a reopening for today at above 8,200. Well, that is not the case right now, because the prospect of any immediate rate cut from the BOE has been dealt a blow following the release of the latest UK inflation data this morning. The FTSE 100 is right now pricing the reopening at below 8,175
