FTSE 100 currently set to reopen below 8,200 this morning
As noted earlier this morning, the FTSE 100 was the least impressive of the major European stock market indexes yesterday. However, despite that, the index still posted a positive close above 8,200. The gain of 67 points on the session saw the index close at 8,215. This morning the FTSE 100 futures are lower right now and currently indicating a reopening below that 8,200 handle. The current indication is for a resumption of live trading at around 8,180, but of course that does not preclude a rebound back above 8,200 again today. Given the gains in tech yesterday, perhaps it was right that the FTSE 100 underperformed in relative terms and a little later this morning we shall see if that looks like being the case again today
