FTSE 100 again stalls at 8,533 for the time being

Earlier this morning, as noted here at the time, the FTSE 100 was pushing up towards the all time record high it set on Friday. That was at 8,533.42. The index reached a high a little earlier this morning, at 8,533.15. Well, as you can see, just a fraction below the record seen on Friday. So, no new records yet today. Of course if that remains in place, then we do have the prospect of a double top in place, just above 8,533, but in order to confirm that the index will ideally need to fall back below 8,500 from here on. The FTSE 100 has not done that yet, but it is close to 8,500 just now. At the same time there is still plenty of trading hours left today in order to have another attempt on the topside. All to be revealed as they say. The FTSE 100 is currently at 8,512
