As expected European stocks open higher this morning- check out the FTSE 100

All the European stock markets got hammered again yesterday and at one point it looked like the losses on the day might surpass those seen last Friday in percentage terms. The FTSE 100 came close to falling below 7,500, when it based out at 7,544.83. The rebound off the lows saw it later close at 7,702.08 with a loss of 352 points on the day. That 4.38% slide on the day was not the worst of the bunch, as that mantle belonged to the CAC 40, which closed 4.78% lower. Well, the European markets have just reopened and leaving aside the book entry opening level for the FTSE 100, it has just kicked off the new session in the green. The index is just now effectively reopening above 7,750 but it was priced closer to 7,900 much earlier today. Hence, a higher opening, but clearly not yet anything of massive consequence. The day is yet young though. The question is; will this rebound last? The FTSE 100 is right now at 7,795
