Late yesterday evening after the US stock markets had closed deep in the red, the dollar hit session lows and as noted, that pushed the USD/JPY below 142. It also saw the EUR/USD vault the 1.14 handle again. The Euro reached 1.1413 before later closing out the US session at 1.1399. Incidentally, that was the highest daily close of the year to date, as despite all the recent moves above 1.14 over the past week, the Euro is yet to set a daily close above the 1.14 handle. The price action today has seen it earlier peak at 1.1409, but since then it has fallen back after those Trump comments on talks with Japan helped the dollar to rebound. So, the low since the earlier high has been set at 1.1356. Beyond whatever Trump said earlier today, nothing has materially changed for the dollar and its immediate trend remains to the downside. The EUR/USD is right now at 1.1365
