EUR/USD ignores negative outlook comments from Lagarde as it pushes above 1.0450

The ECB boss, Christine Lagarde is now addressing the press with her prepared statement. The bent of that so far is not at all positive. She points to European risks being still tilted to the downside and the general demeanour of her comments is certainly not upbeat. However, the EUR/USD is ignoring all of this and lifting now, rising back above 1.0450. That is now some way above the 50 day moving average (rising and at 1.0423). The 21 day moving average below that (1.0359) is also now rising. So, is this a move that suggests the ECB rate cut was priced in? Well, it looks that way for now. So, it is now a question of how much further this might rise before sellers step in again. That is hard to gauge right now but the 1.05 handle might be enough for now, if it gets that high. The EUR/USD is right now at 1.0452
