EUR/USD helped higher by a rebound above 160 in EUR/JPY
The rise in the USD/JPY noted here a little earlier this morning has helped the EUR/USD to edge higher and the main reason for that is due to gains back above 160 in the EUR/JPY. The EUR/JPY has also taken out its 21 day moving average (in place right now at 160.11). The move through that price point seems to have sparked some fresh buying and driven the cross to a high so far this morning at 160.46. The EUR/JPY had closed in the US last night at 159.62. The move higher in this cross has helped to propel the EUR/USD to highs above those seen yesterday, as it edges closer to the 1.08 handle this morning. The EUR/JPY is currently trading at 160.38
