European stocks turn lower in early trading-check out the CAC 40

The European stock markets have not long ago reopened for live trading and the earlier upside calls across the futures have now given way to some downside in the cash markets. The DAX has balked to a push above 23,200 and it is right now falling back below 23,075. It is a similar story for the FTSE 100 as that index rejects a substantive move above 8,700 and turns lower. There will be plenty more to add on that and the Pound ahead of the very important UK Spring statement, at 12.30pm GMT. The CAC 40 is lower now too after earlier threatening to make a push above the high point seen yesterday, at 8,142. The index did close above 8,100 yesterday though, at 8,108, but it is dropping back just now and below that 8,100 handle. That comes following some disappointing data a little earlier from the French consumer. French consumer confidence fell to 92, where the markets were expecting a reading of 94
