European stocks set for a positive start to the New Year-check out the DAX futures

The European stock markets will shortly reopen for the first live session of the year and right now it looks like being a positive start. All three major index futures are in the green this morning and all set for a higher opening. The DAX futures are marginally leading the gains right now too. The index  last closed on December 30, as it was not open on New Years Eve. That close was set at 19,909. Since then the futures have been trading below 19,800 at one stage, but right now the index is priced for a higher opening today, currently close to 19,950. It would come as no surprise to see this index commence the New Year on the front foot, as that is so often the case at the start of any new year. The reader is reminded; the index hit a new all time high last year at 20,522. So, it remains to be seen, if that will be a record that holds in 2025, or not. We shall see as time goes by.
