European stocks set to open lower this morning-check out the DAX futures now

Well, given the moves seen in the US stock markets on Friday and the slide in the Nikkei 225 today, it should not be a surprise to note the the European stock markets are set to open lower this morning. The previous update noted that on the FTSE 100 and the DAX is the theme here. The DAX closed on Friday at 17,814, but it did not participate in much of the lower US price swings and later closes there. The outlook for the opening this morning is suggesting the index will reopen below 17,750 and so it is going to be a lower start for the DAX this morning. The question right now; is can it rebound once more? Right now that would seem unlikely to be honest, but as usual much will depend on how those US equity futures react to what were a technically negative closes on the Nasdaq and S+P. The DAX is currently priced to reopen at around 17,725
